Dargah |
It is the final resting place of
Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti.
Situated southwest of Jaipur (134
kms) is Ajmer, the most sacred of
all Muslim places of pilgrimage
in India. The revered Sufi saint,
Khwaja Muin-ud-din Chisti, who came
to Ajmer from Persia in 1192, died
in 1236 and was buried here. His
tomb, the Dargah is visited by thousands
of devout Muslims every year. The
shrine was erected by Humayun. The
Dargah also has mosques which were
built by rulers such as Shah Jahan,
Jahangir and Akbar. Akbar used to
make a pilgrimage to Ajmer every
year from Agra

Fort |

Erected by Ajaipal Chauhan, the founder
of the city in the 7th century,
Taragarh fort is located about
3 km from the city of Ajmer.
The fort gives a splendid
view of the city. A steep
climb up rewards the weary
visitor with an amazing birds
eye view of Ajmer. |

Nasiyan |

This
red coloured Jain temple was built
in the late 19th century. The beauty
of this temple is widely appreciated.

| Pushkar
Fair |
| |
Every
year during the months of
November and December when
the world famous Pushkar Fair
is organized. It attracts
tourists from across the world
and displays the best of the
culture and tradition of Rajasthan.
In the month of Kartik (October-November)
a cattle fair are held simultaneously.Pushkar
is among the five dhams or
pilgrimages that are held
in high esteem by Hindus,
the others being Badrinath,
Puri, Rameswaram, and Dwarka.

| Museum |
Akbar's
palace was converted into
a museum and today the place
has a rare collection of Mughal
and Rajput armory. Made of
red sandstone, the building
has wonderful interiors and
exteriors.

Ana Sagar Lake |
The
lake was built by Anaji during 1135-1150
AD. Afterwards some constructions
were made by Mughal emperors to
beautify the lake.
